Looking for a fun day trip escape from Los Angeles? Then consider heading up the coast to beautiful Santa Barbara!
Last weekend, a few friends and I drove up to spend the day in Santa Barbara. We left promptly at 10am and an hour and a half later, we were in sunny Santa Barbara! Our first stop: Old Mission Santa Barbara!
After walking around the Mission and taking plenty of photos, we headed into downtown Santa Barbara to grab some lunch. Wanting to have a quick lunch so that we could continue our explorations for the day, we grabbed some food to go and headed towards the beach.
Being at Santa Barbara, we had to go to the beach! Everyone wanted to sunbathe and just enjoy the sun, water, and wind. And was it a perfect day for that! The water was clear, the air was crisp, it was perfect bliss! And to top it off, we practically had the beach to ourselves since it was a Friday!
Next on our itinerary was to do a little exploring in downtown! We had only grabbed lunch before, but we wanted to see more! Santa Barbara is filled with restaurants and stores and that could easily fill a person’s day. However, our main objective was to go to the Santa Barbara Courthouse, where you can have one of the best views of the city from their tower!
After a long day of walking throughout Santa Barbara and enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the city and its beaches, what better way to end the day than to watch the sunset? For this, we drove to the UCSB campus and went to Isla Vista beach. The result? One of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen.
There are tons of fun one day trips you can make while you’re a student at USC! Whether it’s going to Santa Barbara, Malibu, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Orange Country, or anything else, you will always find somewhere new and exciting to explore!
