Getting Involved: On Campus Jobs

While a student at USC, many of you might consider getting a job on campus. USC provides a host of resources such as the campus career center that help students find jobs both on and off campus.Screen Shot 2013-11-19 at 9.12.03 AM

During my freshman and sophomore years, I found a job on campus in order to get some cash in my pocket to fund a snowboarding trip to Mammoth Mountain. Before coming to USC I was an AYSO soccer referee, and upon my arrival I found out that I could get a job as a soccer referee for intramural soccer leagues through the Lyon Center.

The Lyon Center made it easy for me to get in touch with the people in charge of the intramural sports, and within a couple of weeks I was on the field working as a soccer referee. The process of getting the job included a referee orientation that covered some basic rules, some tax paperwork and a brief meeting with the campus career services to get all my legal paperwork in order before I was officially hired. That being said, it was a quick and painless hiring process and USC made it easy for me to find an on campus job that was relevant to my interests.
