Guide to LA Livin’
I grew up in a suburban town outside of the city of Dallas. With that being said, I was very excited to embark on my new “city life” in the center of Los Angeles.
USC is a five-minute bus ride away from Downtown Los Angeles, a vibrant and entertaining city to visit, let alone to live adjacent to. I utilize the Metro, which is conveniently located right next to campus, (and my roommate’s car) to get to some of the best restaurants, best concerts, best museums, best parks, best tourist spots…and the list could go on. Simply put, downtown Los Angeles has almost everything you could ever want in a city and more.
When I go downtown, I usually go to try out a new restaurant or visit a new one. Some of my favorites include Syrup, Blossom, Big Man Bakes, and Botegga Louie. If you don’t feel like spending money, you’re in luck. There are several free events in the LA area. For example, I am going to the Getty Villa in Malibu and LACMA for FREE this Sunday. I’ve also been to free concerts, free DTLA Artwalk, and student discounted events.
LA has so much to offer. Come experience it for yourself!
