How to Raise $75 Million

It’s not everyday that you get a chance to work at a tech startup in San Francisco. However, my experience working at Fastly, a venture capital-backed content delivery network startup, was definitely the highlight of my summer. While interning at Fastly, I had a great opportunity to learn more about how to grow a business and what it feels like to work in a small firm environment. As a financial planning and analysis intern, I had a chance to work in finance, accounting, modeling, and information systems. I also worked with a great team of people who were all dedicated to their jobs but also very down to earth and willing to help. My fellow Fastlians (co-workers) were always cheerful and really wanted me to get the most out of my experience during my internship. They helped mentor me and were patient when they taught me how to use various programs such as Quickbooks, Excel, Salesforce, Netsuite, and Anaplan.

I also helped prepare various documents for pitching to venture capital funds throughout my internship. And the week before my last day, we announced that we had just raised $75 million for our Series D venture capital funding!!!

Check out this Techcruch article for more details:

Overall, my experience was amazing, and I truly made some great connections, friends, and mentors during my summer internship!
