I’ll Be Home for Christmas
In exactly 7 days I’ll be taking my last final of the semester and I’ll be done with school until January!!! And it’s my last extended Christmas break perhaps of my life…sad day. I’ll be heading back to NorCal for a few days at the beginning of break to hang out with friends and family and just be at home for a bit. Maybe I’ll go down the famous “Christmas Tree Lane” in my neighborhood where every house is decked out in lights and colors and happiness.
Then I’ll be coming back to Los Angeles. Every single Christmas that I can remember, I’ve spent the last week of December in LA with grandparents and cousins and aunts and uncles and third cousins 5 times removed. It’s great. We’re planning on going to Disneyland as a big family; it’s tradition. My family makes homemade tamales for Christmas dinner to celebrate my Hispanic heritage. I literally can’t eat store-bought tamales because I love these family tamales that much!
After Christmas I’ll be going down to San Diego for an annual conference for my Christian organization, Cru. It’s a 4 day conference where students involved in Cru in all of California, Arizona, and Hawaii all come together for some speakers and just a great time to hang out with friends and plan for the upcoming semester. It’s awesome…I’ve been the past few years, and it’s my last one this year. Then it’ll be 2014—the year that I graduate! I’ll be going to a friend’s wedding in early January (crazy…I’m such an adult), and then returning to NorCal for the last week of my Christmas break.
Overall it’s gonna be a crazy busy 4 weeks, but I’m really excited for all that I’m doing, plus I plan on getting lots and lots of sleep. And I’ll be eating a lot too. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everybody!!!
