My favorite CEO…
Of the staggering number of CEOs around the world, I consistently pick Satoru Iwata, worldwide CEO of Nintendo, as my favorite. For those who may be unfamiliar with Iwata, he began his duties as Nintendo’s CEO in 2002. Prior to working at Nintendo, Iwata was a programmer at HAL Laboratory, a Japanese video game development team responsible for creating the famous Kirby and Super Smash Bros. franchises. In addition to his work as global president, Iwata continues to oversee and contribute to the production of numerous titles for the Nintendo video game consoles.
How well do you think Iwata’s Mii avatar matches his looks?
I admire Iwata not only for contributions of outstanding work to the video game industry in the past, but also for his commitment to Nintendo’s tradition of providing high quality and uniquely fun entertainment to its consumers in the present and into the future. Iwata remains loyal to this belief by reiterating it in press conferences and working on titles and franchises that provide a quality gaming experience, allowing Nintendo to thrive as a powerhouse in the games industry. In today’s competitive video game market, it is reassuring to know that Iwata and Nintendo keep addressing the need for excellence in their products for their customers to enjoy.
