My favorite places to eat on campus
USC is certainly not lacking in its diverse offering of on-campus eateries for students. Here are some of my personal favorites.
Located in the lobby of Marshall’s brand new, state of the art business building Fertitta Hall, this cafe offers an assortment of Asian cuisine including:
- Dumplings and potstickers
- Bahn Mi
My go-tos: the spicy tonkotsu ramen, chicken potstickers, and the bahn mi sandwich. Tip: This delicious cafe is only open for limited hours! Be sure to get there before 6:30 PM Monday-Thursday and before 5:00 PM on Fridays.
Best. Milkshakes. Ever. And so many options! My favorite: the Five Dollar Shake with oreos and Reese’s peanut butter cups. Be sure to google their “secret menu,” too… Tip: In addition to satisfying your late-night milkshake cravings (open until 11:30 PM), Ground Zero also frequently hosts improv shows and music performances!
One of three dining halls on campus, Cafe 84 is the best in my opinion. Located right next to the Lyon Recreation Center (so you can reward yourself with food immediately after working out), Cafe 84 is notable for its fried rice and ramen bars, gourmet burgers and homemade potato chips, as well as the morning omelette station where you simply fill out a customizable order form and don’t even have to wait in line! Cafe 84 also boasts many vegetarian and vegan options. Tip: Be sure to save room for dessert because there is a crepe station you do not want to miss!
