Perks of LA Living
One of the biggest perks of attending USC is being able to live in the very heart of Los Angeles. Life in LA consists of sunny weather, plenty of job and internship opportunities, delicious food, shopping districts, cultural museums and art exhibits, and proximity to the beach.
Here is a photo of my roommate and I posing at the “Urban Lights” sculpture at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art)! Although I am not majoring or minoring in Art History, I took AP Art History in high school and happen to love going to art museums! I found the subject absolutely fascinating. Los Angeles has many art museums that my roommate and I love to visit, including LACMA and The Getty. Both often host special exhibits that allow free entrance for USC students!
My friends and I also also love going to the beaches near the LA area, including Manhattan Beach.
Here is a photo of my sorority sisters and I at Manhattan Beach Pier. Because it is only about 15-30 minutes away from USC (depending on traffic), many USC students visit Manhattan Beach on weekends for a fun day of tanning, swimming, hanging out, and playing beach volleyball. One of my favorite things about LA living is experiencing urban life as a student, while also reaping the benefits of living near the beach in sunny southern California!
Ultimately, Los Angeles is one of the most ideal places to attend college for many reasons. There are always events going on, activities to take part in, and places to visit. You will never be bored in LA!
