One thing that I learned about Business/Accounting this year is that in order to succeed in the public accounting industry, I must be comfortable with technology. I am currently taking a course called ACCT 371: Introduction to Accounting Systems with Leslie Porter, and am learning about how technology gets used in public accounting.
Most of the information that is being taught in this class is 100% new to me. This is the first time in a while where I am completely unfamiliar with the course material and have to learn starting with the very basics.
For instance, I have never used Dynamics, ACL, or Visio before taking this class, but am now comfortable using these programs. It’s cool to learn how to use various programs on the computer that I once didn’t even know existed!
I’m thankful that as a Leventhal student, I have the opportunity to learn about these technologies and programs before entering the workplace.
