Scream & Shout

My favorite USC tradition is the primal scream. It takes place every night around 9 or 10pm the day before scheduled finals. Finals is a time when everybody walks around in the pajamas, strung out on Starbucks and Coffee Bean, holding 3847032 books. The primal scream lets us first of all, let out all our stress, but also reminds us that we’re all in it together. Regardless of the outcome, you’ve got 17,000 other undergrads right there with you in this community.

As a plus–there’s ALWAYS free food during primal scream! I remember last year in the dorms, there was food every night thanks to residential government, so we could just go downstairs to the lobby, grab some Chipotle or Chick-fil-a, and then go back up to studying.

The Spirit of Troy (our marching band) also comes out in front of Leavey, our 24 hour library, and plays for about half an hour. Here’s a video for you all to enjoy!
