Technology @ Marshall
Marshall has done a lot to implement next technology into it’s curriculum. Here are some ways in which technology is being used in our business core curriculum classes:
1. BUAD 310 – Applied Business Statistics
The new BUAD 310 curriculum now has a discussion component where students learn how to use Excel applications and really “apply” statistics to problems using Excel.
2. BUAD 302 and BUAD 302T – Communication Strategy in Business and Communication Strategy in Accounting
Both versions of BUAD 302 are using You see U, a platform where you can record yourself presenting on a computer and rematch your presentations. Here is a link to the website: http://www.youseeu.com
3. BUAD 307 – Marketing Fundamentals
Many of the marketing classes at Marshall are teaching students about WebeX, which is an online teleconferencing system that allows users to present to a group of people over the internet. It is similar to a large chatroom, but the neat thing about it is that people in the conference can see the presenter’s computer screen while he/she is presenting. Teleconferencing is a big part of how companies today are “virtually meeting” with each other, and companies such as Deloitte and Google are actually using these tools to communicate virtually with one another.
